Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.”— John 14:12-14 ESV“Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father. Today's reflection
Before there were calendars, deadlines, or the small fires of our daily worries, there was simply this: God, and a willingness to begin. The opening line of Scripture does not argue for God's existence — it announces a Maker already at work. Notice the verbs of these first chapters: God speaks, separates, names, blesses. Creation is not chaos tamed by accident; it is intention given shape. As you start this year-long journey, let that be the shape of your reading too — intentional, unhurried, expectant…
Two short passages chosen to move you through the whole Bible in a year.

Ask anything
A companion for the hard verses
Every reading comes with a companion you can ask about the text in front of you — in your own words, in your own language.
Why does Matthew open with a genealogy?
Because Matthew is making a claim before he tells a single story: this child belongs to Israel's history. The names carry kings and outsiders, faithfulness and failure — and the line still arrives at Jesus. It reads like a legal document because it is one: a case that the promise was kept.
