Bible Verses About Strength: Power Made Perfect in Weakness
Updated
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
2 Corinthians 12:9
Paul asked three times for the thorn to be removed. The answer he received was not removal but sufficiency — a different kind of yes, and one he came to prefer.
The logic runs against instinct. Weakness is normally the thing we hide before we serve; here it becomes the very place strength is displayed. Nothing is wasted, including the limitation you would trade away tomorrow.
Practically, this reframes endurance. Strength is not the absence of depletion but the ongoing supply that meets it. Sufficient grace is measured out daily, which is why daily is the unit Scripture keeps using.

Practical takeaways
- Name your current thorn honestly in prayer instead of praying around it.
- Ask for grace sufficient for today only — resist borrowing tomorrow's burden.
- Serve once this week from a place of weakness rather than waiting until you feel capable.
